UVM previously sent out scattered Vimeo links, leading to confusion and a lack of cohesive branding. This new, unified platform has now been in use for over five years.

Challenges, Approach & Concept
- As Creative Lead, pitched an integrated vision to UVM.
- Assembled a multidisciplinary team (UI designer, back-end dev, technical producer).
- Focused on a mobile-first design with real-time updates to handle the varying schedules of each ceremony.
- Seamless user flow: Users swipe through cards for each division, select a stream, and instantly access replays.
- Leveraged Webflow for the front end, Cloudflare for reliability, Vimeo API for embedded livestreams.
Process, Tools & Techniques
- Development:
- Front End: Webflow for design and hosting.
- Back End: Tied into Vimeo’s livestream functionality for automatic replay toggles.
- Domain & Security: Cloudflare integration for speed and reliability.
- Team Coordination: Weekly sprints to address UI changes and incorporate feedback from UVM’s internal stakeholders.
- Ongoing Maintenance: Annual refreshes, ensuring new updates and ceremony segments are properly integrated.
Final Outputs, Impact & Reflection
- Final Deliverable: A polished, all-in-one commencement site that’s easy to navigate, robust under high traffic, and flexible for event schedule changes.
- Impact: Consistently serves thousands of viewers each year, significantly improving user experience and brand cohesion for UVM.
- Reflection: Demonstrated how a streamlined, centralized approach can transform a once-disjointed viewing experience into a smooth, high-quality event platform.
